Buds and weed in Bengaluru, India - my impression

Hello dear rasta audience🤝Want to tell my story about adventures with weed in Bengaluru, with some stories of local inhabitant.

You are probably aware that marijuana laws are different in different places. This article should shed light on cannabis regulations in Bengaluru, what do local people and cops think about weed, hash availability, pricing, my own experience etc.

My trip to Bengaluru is over, these 10 days were perfect, so while memory is fresh I decided to write this post, who knows may be useful to someone. Being a regular cannabis smoker I could not imagine my stay in Bengaluru without some daily joints. So from the very first day of my stay I started looking for weed…

Local attitude towards weed and cannabis in Bengaluru

Although only medical cannabis is allowed in Bengaluru, the locals are absolutely ok with the smokers. Local dealers have big cash from the students and tourists, so they are their weed target audiences in Bengaluru. You shouldn't allow yourself to smoke anywhere, for example in bars, but nobody is surprised if you get caught smoking weed in a secluded corner of the street.

One more interesting fact from my new friend Olaf - even some cops in Bengaluru prefer smoking weed over drinking strong. So as I understood Bengaluru is a good place for smokers of marijuana because of the light atmosphere, but all the same the best rule is not to be caught with weed in Bengaluru 😉.

So, then Olaf shared the small joint of a new hemp variety, thanks to him, it was the exact thing I needed. We got some portions of tasty beer and we were a little bit drunk, so we decided not to go far. We started smoking on the street straight near my hostel and it seemed that on the next street some guys were doing the same.

I was thankful to Olaf for one joint, but I wanted to find a regular supplier for all my vacation in Bengaluru . So I begged Olaf to share the name of his provider of weed with me. He declined it, because his friend didn't cooperate with the tourists, only with locals. I was persistent, so at the end of the evening and the couple of beers, he agreed to be the dealer of marijuana for me. All my goals connected with good rest were solved, thanks to Olaf!

Cannabis laws in Bengaluru, India

You can probably guess that distribution of non-medical cannabis is strictly forbidden and regulated by laws of India, so you can not purchase high THC weed in some official shops like you may do in the Netherlands for example.

On my very first day in Bengaluru I got acquainted with Olaf who has lived here for 3 years already and who is also a regular cannabis smoker. He shared a joint with me and told some stories. As he told that despite non-medical weed being prohibited - cops are relaxed and calm in everything related to cannabis, with some rare exceptions.

What if I get caught with weed in Bengaluru?

In practice, as Olaf said - if you are 18+ and carry less than 20 grams of weed or 10 grams of hash and do not smoke in public - you should not expect any arrest. As a maximum, cops will confiscate your stuff after they ensure you are not a dealer who delivers stuff.

There are some stories about occasional cops forcing people to give them a bribe after catching someone with weed, but such cases are rare. Usually cops do not touch foreign tourists who are spending their vacation or business trip in Bengaluru and bring money to India.

Where to search for weed in Bengaluru

While Olaf became my temporary cannabis dealer (and this was the answer for me to all my questions) - he told me how things work in Bengaluru.

Top tier dealers in Bengaluru purchase cannabis on darknet websites that handle wholesale orders that may contain kilograms of weed and hash. Some darknet dealers process small orders as well, so if you are ready to understand Tor browser and how .onion sites work + ready to wait several days for delivery - take a look on thehiddenwiki.com - it has all links and info you will need about darknet.

If you are just having a short vacation or a trip to Bengaluru - purchasing weed via wholesale darknet websites is not an option. Looking for dealers on the streets and in parks is still something you may do to find some weed in Bengaluru, but more and more dealers are shifting to online orders done via messengers and payments in bitcoins instead of cash. This simply protects them from ever being caught by cops. Crypto payments are anonymous and delivery is done to selected location without any personal meetings, so both you and the dealer are secured from any possible consequences.

This was a surprise for me cause I am more old school and just “heard something about crypto”. While now all youngsters (who are usually a target group for cannabis dealers) have crypto wallets so dealers simply follow the trend. I think dealers are losing money anyway because not all clients know crypto, but Olaf commented that nowadays if you do not use crypto - you 100% have a friend who uses it, so you may just send him money from card and he does crypto transaction for you. After that I remembered I also have such a friend, so I agreed with Olaf.
