Despite the fact that I did not have any problems with weed in Da Lat because of Steve, he told me how everything works (and not only with cannabis).

They consider a couple of joints an essential part of a good party, although it might be a bit challenging to fit in if you happen to be over 25.

In general, indulging in the random joint after a long workweek is a cherished tradition among many residents of Da Lat. The overall attitude of locals to weed is rather relaxed, so you may even feel yourself home in Da Lat after one good joint, telling this from my own experience. Steve shared with me a joint of simply perfect sativa (while he did not know the exact strain). We were smoking outside the bar, and saw other guys doing the same on the other side of the street 😁 So I can definitely say that smoking weed is rather popular in Da Lat.

I’ve asked Steve if he may share contacts of his dealer, cause stuff was out of this world. He told me that his exact dealer does not work with new people, so he will be my dealer during my vacation, which was simply perfect. I wish everyone to find your own Steve in some bar of Da Lat.

In practice, as Steve said - if you are 18+ and carry less than 20 grams of weed or 10 grams of hash and do not smoke in public - you should not expect any arrest. As a maximum, cops will confiscate your stuff after they ensure you are not a dealer who delivers stuff.

There are some stories about occasional cops forcing people to give them a bribe after catching someone with weed, but such cases are rare. Usually cops do not touch foreign tourists who are spending their vacation or business trip in Da Lat and bring money to Vietnam.

I haven't purchased low-quality weed in Da Lat, so I'm not sure about the prices for that, but they should generally be lower.
