Buds and weed in Delhi, India - my impression

Hello dear rasta audience🤝Want to tell my story about adventures with weed in Delhi, with some stories of local inhabitant.

You are probably aware that marijuana laws are different in different places. This article should shed light on cannabis regulations in Delhi, what do local people and cops think about weed, hash availability, pricing, my own experience etc.

I've just come back from an interesting journey to Delhi. It was a double week vacation and now when I'm at home, full of impressions I'm writing this post to share them with you, guys. As a strong smoker of the weed and hash I couldn't even imagine my trip with a 'clear mind'. Further I'll give you the information that I got when I was looking for the good drugs staff in Delhi.

How to get weed in Delhi?

I did not need a dealer in Delhi because I had Joe, anyway it was interesting for me how gears work in Delhiin relation to cannabis.

High-level wholesale Delhi dealers purchase weed and hash on the darknet websites. Usually these sites are about wholesale multi-kilo orders, but some also work with small amounts. So in fact this may be an option #1 for you - under the condition you know how to use darknet features of Tor browser and .onion sites + ready to wait 3-5 days for the delivery. If yes - you may find all the info about darknet websites on thehiddenwiki.com - darknet wikipedia.

While if you are having a short vacation or a trip to Delhi and need not much weed right now or tomorrow - only local weed dealers may assist you. You may still use oldschool approach and hustle dark streets or parks in search of strange person who will sell you some joint for cash, but not sure this is the best way to spend your time in Delhi. Nowadays almost all dealers have gone online and crypto already, so hustling the streets may simply not work. Now the weed-selling process looks like this - you find some messenger contacts of a local dealer (ask some barmans or simply google), contact him and choose what you would like to order, pay in crypto and get your stuff delivered to a hotel or some pre-selected location. Personal meetings are something dealers try to avoid - so weed is usually dropped at some approximate point you firstly discuss, and you get photo and GPS coordinates where to take your package after delivery.

I was a little bit shocked, because I got used to the idea that “cash rules the world”. But after crypto became something you may exchange to real cash, and do not need to meet in person to transfer it - cash started losing its points in the drug business. Joe also commented that now if you do not know crypto - you have a friend who is keen on bitcoins and all that shit, so you may simply ask him to help and do a crypto transaction for you. And I really have such friends, so yep, agree.

Perception of Cannabis Among Residents of Delhi

It's worth noting that high-THC non-medical cannabis isn't officially available for purchase in licensed cannabis stores in Delhi, but that doesn't mean the locals are strongly opposed to it 😃. It's primarily the younger crowd and students who openly enjoy cannabis and are open to welcoming new enthusiasts into their social circles. They consider a couple of joints an essential part of a good party, although it might be a bit challenging to fit in if you happen to be over 25.

In general, indulging in the random joint after a long workweek is a cherished tradition among many residents of Delhi. People tend to be tolerant, so there's no need to worry about judgment when it comes to your cannabis consumption. However, it's advisable to avoid doing so in public to avoid unnecessary attention.

Generally, the local stance on cannabis is quite laid-back, so you might start feeling at ease in Delhi after enjoying a single quality joint, and I can attest to this from my own experience. Joe graciously shared a wonderfully satisfying sativa joint with me, even though he wasn't sure about the specific strain. We were indulging outside a bar and noticed other individuals across the street doing the same 😁. It's safe to say that cannabis consumption is quite prevalent in Delhi.

I inquired with Joe about the possibility of obtaining his dealer's contact information because the quality of the product was exceptional. He explained that his specific dealer doesn't take on new clients, so he graciously offered to be my supplier during my vacation, which turned out to be an ideal arrangement. I hope everyone has the chance to encounter their own Joe in one of Delhi's bars.

Cannabis regulations in Delhi, India

It's crucial to emphasize that cannabis, marijuana, and hashish are strictly prohibited in Delhi. You won't find coffee shops selling high-THC marijuana strains here. While medical CBD cannabis might be accessible through licensed dispensaries, it necessitates a doctor's prescription, and it's essential to note that CBD doesn't produce psychoactive effects.

While at a club, I had the opportunity to meet Joe, who relocated to Delhi three years ago and is well-versed in the local drug culture. According to Joe, despite the legal prohibition of cannabis, law enforcement officers generally adopt a lenient attitude towards marijuana, with some even being cannabis enthusiasts themselves.

But what if you get caught with weed in your pocket in Delhi?

According to Joe - if you have not more than 10g of weed or 5g of hash and you are not doing any other bad things in public - cops should not punish you. They should just ensure you are not a dealer who sells stuff, and after a short talk should leave you alone and just confiscate your stuff (to smoke it themselves haha).

There are some stories about dirty cops who try to get a bribe from tourists with weed in Delhi, but these stories are rare, also better not to do this cause you may be arrested for this as a separate crime. Easier just to watch you back and not to walk with large amounts of weed in your pockets.
