Cannabis in Incheon, South Korea: my journey

Hello, cannabis enthusiasts! As you may be aware, cannabis laws and regulations can differ significantly from place to place. Join me as I delve into the world of cannabis in Incheon. In this post, I will explore the landscape of cannabis laws, regulations, the local community's stance, interactions with law enforcement, comparisons between hash and weed availability, as well as the costs associated with acquiring cannabis in Incheon.

Just finished my vacation, stayed 2 weeks in Incheon, and as a heavy weed smoker I can't imagine a vacation without some sativa joint during the day and indica buds with some beer before heading to sleep. Below you will find info on what I found out while searching for tasty non-medical weed in Incheon.

Cannabis laws in Incheon, South Korea

You can probably guess that distribution of non-medical cannabis is strictly forbidden and regulated by laws of South Korea, so you can not purchase high THC weed in some official shops like you may do in the Netherlands for example.

On my very first day in Incheon I got acquainted with Jason who has lived here for 3 years already and who is also a regular cannabis smoker. He shared a joint with me and told some stories. As he told that despite non-medical weed being prohibited - cops are relaxed and calm in everything related to cannabis, with some rare exceptions.

How not to be arrested with marijuana in Incheon?

As Jason told me - for not to be arrested you can carry less than 10g of cannabis or 5g of hash. For the same purpose you should be sane and not use drugs in public places. Cops can just check if you are going to sell marijuana or not and confiscate it.

There are some possibilities that cops could try to get money from you if they catch you with weed in Incheon. It is not a frequent story, but you should keep in mind that some cops prefer to force you to pay some money for your calmness. But not to propose money first because it can be regarded as a separate crime. So the easiest way is not to be caught with weed in Incheon 😉.

Local attitude towards weed and cannabis in Incheon

Although only medical cannabis is allowed in Incheon, the locals are absolutely ok with the smokers. Local dealers have big cash from the students and tourists, so they are their weed target audiences in Incheon. You shouldn't allow yourself to smoke anywhere, for example in bars, but nobody is surprised if you get caught smoking weed in a secluded corner of the street.

One more interesting fact from my new friend Jason - even some cops in Incheon prefer smoking weed over drinking strong. So as I understood Incheon is a good place for smokers of marijuana because of the light atmosphere, but all the same the best rule is not to be caught with weed in Incheon 😉.

Jason shared with me a small joint of some unknown indica strain that evening, this was exactly what I needed. We were a little bit drunk and were smoking near my hotel directly on the street near trash containers, and it seems I saw other guys doing the same on the opposite side of the street.

One joint is good - but I needed weed for the whole period of my stay in Incheon , so asked Jason if he could share contacts of his cannabis dealer. The answer was negative, simply because his dealer did not accept new people. But as we became close after the joint - Jason agreed to become my dealer for the nearest days, so all my issues with weed were resolved, thanks to Jason!

Where can one acquire cannabis in Incheon?

Although I personally didn't face any issues with obtaining cannabis in Incheon thanks to Jason, he did enlighten me about the process (and not just related to cannabis).

Typically, higher-level dealers procure their inventory from wholesale darknet websites. In theory, you could navigate the complexities of using darknet platforms to have your order delivered in a matter of days or even weeks. The website thehiddenwiki.com provides all the necessary links to make purchases in the darknet using the Tor browser and cryptocurrencies. However, this method is generally more suitable for those seeking larger quantities and have the luxury of time (several days) for delivery.

But if you have a short trip to Incheon or vacation + need not too much weed and right now - only small local dealers may help you. Walking dark streets in a search for a strange-looking person who will sell you something that looks like weed for cash is still an option, but this is not the best way to spend time in Incheon and does not guarantee you any success. Today almost all dealers went online already, so they arrange the delivery of stuff after taking crypto instead of cash. They try to avoid meetings in person so you just select the approximate drop off point, and get a photo where exactly to take your stuff after the delivery. Stuff is usually masked and looks not suspicious (may be a pack of juice or cigarettes you just take and continue walking).

I was surprised, really. Looks like I am too oldschool already - thought cash rules the world. While nowadays you may anonymously exchange crypto to cash - so for all illegal payments this became option #1. So now the dealing process looks like this - you find some messenger contacts of a local dealer (ask google or local barman), contact him and choose what you want to order, pay in crypto and get your stuff delivered to some pre-selected place (that may be your hotel). Personal meetings are something dealers try to avoid - so weed is usually dropped at some approximate point you firstly discuss, and you get photo and GPS coordinates where to take your package after delivery.
