Weed in Manila, Philippines: my experience

Hi, smokers! You probably know that cannabis laws and regulations vary from one county to another, so let’s go deeper and try to understand what is going on with weed in Manila. My post covers information about weed laws, regulations, general attitude of locals and cops, hash VS weed availability and pricing, failures and success in finding weed in Manila.

Just wrapped up my vacation, spent a fantastic time in Manila, and as a passionate cannabis enthusiast, I can't envision a vacation without enjoying a sativa joint during the day and some indica buds with a cold beer before bedtime. Below, you'll discover the insights I gained while on the hunt for top-notch recreational weed in Manila.

Cannabis laws in Manila, Philippines

You can probably guess that distribution of non-medical cannabis is strictly forbidden and regulated by laws of Philippines, so you can not purchase high THC weed in some official shops like you may do in the Netherlands for example.

On my very first day in Manila I got acquainted with John who has lived here for 3 years already and who is also a regular cannabis smoker. He shared a joint with me and told some stories. As he told that despite non-medical weed being prohibited - cops are relaxed and calm in everything related to cannabis, with some rare exceptions.

What if I get caught with marijuana in Manila?

In fact, according to John - if you have less than 10g of weed or 5g of hash and behave correctly + do not smoke joints in public - nothing critical should happen. Cops will check if you are not intending to sell the stuff being a real dealer, they should just confiscate weed after a short talk.

People say sometimes police officers try to get some material benefits from catching you with weed in Manila. These stories are rare, but mind that some cops may force you giving them some money to leave you alone. But never try to offer them anything yourself, this may be treated as a separate crime. Easier just to watch your back not not get caught with weed in Manila.

Points to find the weed in Manila

During the time John had been my dealer (it was the solving of all my issues) he was telling me about how the things were going in Manila.

High rated providers in Manila buy the cannabis on darknet websites that maintain gross orders. These orders can contain a big amount of weed and hash, kilograms I think. Some websites work on small orders too, so if you are close to Tor browser working and know how to .onion sites doing - glance on thehiddenwiki.com, wait for a couple of days and get your package. This site has all the information needed about darknet.

If you're on a short vacation or a trip to Manila, obtaining cannabis through wholesale darknet websites isn't a viable option. Searching for street or park dealers remains a possibility for acquiring weed in Manila, but an increasing number of dealers are transitioning to online transactions through messaging apps and Bitcoin payments instead of cash. This approach serves as a protective measure against potential encounters with law enforcement. Crypto payments offer anonymity, and deliveries are made to specified locations without the need for in-person meetings, ensuring both you and the dealer are shielded from potential consequences.

This revelation surprised me, as I lean toward a more traditional approach and had only heard about cryptocurrencies in passing. However, these days, most young individuals, who are often the target audience for cannabis dealers, possess crypto wallets, so dealers are simply adapting to this trend. While I believe that some dealers might lose business because not all clients are familiar with cryptocurrencies, John pointed out that nowadays, if you don't use crypto yourself, you likely have a friend who does. In such cases, you can simply transfer money from your card to your crypto-savvy friend, and they can conduct the cryptocurrency transaction on your behalf. This advice from John got me thinking, and I realized I also have such a friend, so I followed his suggestion.

Local attitude towards weed and cannabis in Manila

Although only medical cannabis is allowed in Manila, the locals are absolutely ok with the smokers. Local dealers have big cash from the students and tourists, so they are their weed target audiences in Manila. You shouldn't allow yourself to smoke anywhere, for example in bars, but nobody is surprised if you get caught smoking weed in a secluded corner of the street.

One more interesting fact from my new friend John - even some cops in Manila prefer smoking weed over drinking strong. So as I understood Manila is a good place for smokers of marijuana because of the light atmosphere, but all the same the best rule is not to be caught with weed in Manila 😉.

The overall attitude of locals to weed is rather relaxed, so you may even feel yourself home in Manila after one good joint, telling this from my own experience. John shared with me a joint of simply perfect sativa (while he did not know the exact strain). We were smoking outside the bar, and saw other guys doing the same on the other side of the street 😁 So I can definitely say that smoking weed is rather popular in Manila.

I’ve asked John if he may share contacts of his dealer, cause stuff was out of this world. He told me that his exact dealer does not work with new people, so he will be my dealer during my vacation, which was simply perfect. I wish everyone to find your own John in some bar of Manila.
