Marijuana in Sejong, South Korea - my experience

Howdy, go-getters 🤝My greetings to you in my long topic about my experience with weed in _CITY_ based on my adventures and the stories of local friends.

There is a well known fact that the laws according to the usage of marijuana differs from city to city. Based on that fact I've decided to write this article to let you know the rules of interaction with weed and hash in Sejong , tell you about the police attention, possibility to find good hash, the price’s politics and all underwater rocks connected with the drugs in Sejong.

I have just finished my trip to Sejong, stayed there for 10 days, now got back home, writing this post while memory is fresh and with a solid joint in my left hand. As a regular weed smoker I could not imagine my stay in Sejong without having some weed in my pocket. Below I will outline information I found out while looking for some good smelly green buds in Sejong.

What do Sejong locals think about weed and cannabis

Despite non-medical cannabis being officially forbidden in Sejong - locals are absolutely absolutely relaxed about this type of light drugs. Young people and tourists are large target audiences for weed dealers in Sejong, and all locals know that. This does not mean you may smoke joints in any bars, but no one should be surprised if they find you smoking weed somewhere in the dark corner of the street.

According to Fred - even local cops in Sejong are occasional weed smokers, so we may state that the atmosphere is relaxed in everything related to cannabis, while you should anyway watch your back to avoid any stressful situations with police.

We were a little drunk already when Fred offered a joint of some noname sativa strain, of course I agreed. We were smoking not far from my hotel and it seems I saw other guys doing the same near another cornet 🙂So may say locals are not against weed, I saw this myself.

I liked the weed Fred shared, not the best one I’ve ever tried, but good enough. So I asked Fred to share contacts of his dealer, while he refused telling me his dealer works only with an old trusted set of clients. So I simply asked Fred if he could be my dealer during the nearest days - he agreed. I wish everyone to find his own Fred in Sejong🙂

Points to find the weed in Sejong

During the time Fred had been my dealer (it was the solving of all my issues) he was telling me about how the things were going in Sejong.

High rated providers in Sejong buy the cannabis on darknet websites that maintain gross orders. These orders can contain a big amount of weed and hash, kilograms I think. Some websites work on small orders too, so if you are close to Tor browser working and know how to .onion sites doing - glance on thehiddenwiki.com, wait for a couple of days and get your package. This site has all the information needed about darknet.

While if you are having a short vacation or a trip to Sejong and need not much weed right now or tomorrow - only local weed dealers may assist you. You may still use oldschool approach and hustle dark streets or parks in search of strange person who will sell you some joint for cash, but not sure this is the best way to spend your time in Sejong. Nowadays almost all dealers have gone online and crypto already, so hustling the streets may simply not work. Now the weed-selling process looks like this - you find some messenger contacts of a local dealer (ask some barmans or simply google), contact him and choose what you would like to order, pay in crypto and get your stuff delivered to a hotel or some pre-selected location. Personal meetings are something dealers try to avoid - so weed is usually dropped at some approximate point you firstly discuss, and you get photo and GPS coordinates where to take your package after delivery.

I was a little bit shocked, because I got used to the idea that “cash rules the world”. But after crypto became something you may exchange to real cash, and do not need to meet in person to transfer it - cash started losing its points in the drug business. Fred also commented that now if you do not know crypto - you have a friend who is keen on bitcoins and all that shit, so you may simply ask him to help and do a crypto transaction for you. And I really have such friends, so yep, agree.

Cannabis laws in Sejong, South Korea

You can probably guess that distribution of non-medical cannabis is strictly forbidden and regulated by laws of South Korea, so you can not purchase high THC weed in some official shops like you may do in the Netherlands for example.

On my very first day in Sejong I got acquainted with Fred who has lived here for 3 years already and who is also a regular cannabis smoker. He shared a joint with me and told some stories. As he told that despite non-medical weed being prohibited - cops are relaxed and calm in everything related to cannabis, with some rare exceptions.

What are the consequences of being caught with marijuana in Sejong ?

In reality, as Fred pointed out, if you're over 18 and possess fewer than 20 grams of cannabis or 10 grams of hashish and refrain from public consumption, you shouldn't anticipate any legal trouble. At most, law enforcement may seize your belongings once they confirm you're not involved in distribution.

Typically, law enforcement officers do not interfere with foreign tourists who are enjoying their vacation or conducting business trips in Sejong and contributing to the economy of South Korea.

Can I smoke cannabis on the streets in Sejong ?

In some places, smoking marijuana in public, on the streets, or in parks may be illegal and subject to administrative sanctions. My advice is to try to avoid smoking marijuana in public places.

What will happen if I get caught with cannabis in Sejong ?

Usually, law enforcement tends to be lenient with tourists, and if they don't suspect you of dealing, they will most likely let you go.

Can you recommend a place to buy weed in Sejong ?

As I mentioned before, I was fortunate to meet Fred. If I were you, I would look for Telegram channels and avoid interacting with street dealers.

Can I find high quality weed or hash in Sejong?

Yes, while quality varies from dealer to dealer.

Can I find hash in Sejong?

Yes, a lot of dealers sell both weed and hash, so hash is also popular and can be found in Sejong. Not all dealers have it, but it is still rather popular.

What is the price for weed and hash in Sejong?

Prices vary from dealer to dealer and usually depend on stuff quality and dealer’s greediness 😂From what I saw - super high quality weed may go up to $20 - $25 per 1 gram (while the more you buy - the lower price you get), and high quality hash was around $30-$35 per 1 gram. Have not purchased low quality weed in Sejong so do not know the prices, but should be lower.

Interesting facts about weed

1 - You Can Eat Cannabis Raw
Granted, it tastes a lot better when prepared with yummy edibles like brownies, bread, or cake. But cannabis can be consumed raw. One more thing is that if you eat it raw, it won’t get you high, but it will provide you with all the medicinal benefits.

2 - Modern-Day Cannabis Is A Lot Stronger
We talked about this on the cannabis flower and its influence in the 60s. For one, it’s purer than the illegal “hippie weed” that was imported into the United States. And it’s also been cultivated to increase its THC content, so the high you get from marijuana today is a lot stronger than what your parents or grandparents consumed.

3 - Cannabis Has Over 100 Active Cannabinoids
In fact, over 120. The most famous ones are (you guessed it!) THC and CBD.

4 - California Banned First
A century ago, California was the first state in the United States to ban cannabis. This is a bit ironic when we look at the fun fact above. But it looks like Cali learned its lesson!

5 - Weed Is Beer’s Cousin!
Beer hops are in the same family of flowering plants as cannabis. We thought the plants looked similar… and now we know why.
