Marijuana in Seremban, Malaysia - my experience

There is a well known fact that the laws according to the usage of marijuana differs from city to city. Based on that fact I've decided to write this article to let you know the rules of interaction with weed and hash in Seremban , tell you about the police attention, possibility to find good hash, the price’s politics and all underwater rocks connected with the drugs in Seremban.

I have just finished my trip to Seremban, stayed there for 10 days, now got back home, writing this post while memory is fresh and with a solid joint in my left hand. As a regular weed smoker I could not imagine my stay in Seremban without having some weed in my pocket. Despite the fact that I did not have any problems with weed in Seremban because of Simon, he told me how everything works (and not only with cannabis).

I was a little bit shocked, because I got used to the idea that “cash rules the world”. But after crypto became something you may exchange to real cash, and do not need to meet in person to transfer it - cash started losing its points in the drug business. Simon also commented that now if you do not know crypto - you have a friend who is keen on bitcoins and all that shit, so you may simply ask him to help and do a crypto transaction for you. And I really have such friends, so yep, agree.

Local attitude towards weed and cannabis in Seremban

Although only medical cannabis is allowed in Seremban, the locals are absolutely ok with the smokers. Local dealers have big cash from the students and tourists, so they are their weed target audiences in Seremban. You shouldn't allow yourself to smoke anywhere, for example in bars, but nobody is surprised if you get caught smoking weed in a secluded corner of the street.

One more interesting fact from my new friend Simon - even some cops in Seremban prefer smoking weed over drinking strong. So as I understood Seremban is a good place for smokers of marijuana because of the light atmosphere, but all the same the best rule is not to be caught with weed in Seremban 😉.

Generally, the local stance on cannabis is quite laid-back, so you might start feeling at ease in Seremban after enjoying a single quality joint, and I can attest to this from my own experience. Simon graciously shared a wonderfully satisfying sativa joint with me, even though he wasn't sure about the specific strain. We were indulging outside a bar and noticed other individuals across the street doing the same 😁. It's safe to say that cannabis consumption is quite prevalent in Seremban.

I inquired with Simon about the possibility of obtaining his dealer's contact information because the quality of the product was exceptional. He explained that his specific dealer doesn't take on new clients, so he graciously offered to be my supplier during my vacation, which turned out to be an ideal arrangement. I hope everyone has the chance to encounter their own Simon in one of Seremban's bars.

Marijuana regulations in Seremban, Malaysia

You should know that storage and distribution of non-medical cannabis is forbidden and strictly regulated by laws of Malaysia. This means you can not go and buy some good weed in an official shop like you may do in Canada for example. Low THC and high CBD cannabis may be ordered if you have a prescription from a doctor.

On my first evening in Seremban I met Simon who moved here a couple of years ago. I got lucky - he was one of the heavy weed smokers, so he agreed to share a joint with me and tell me some stories about local dealers. As he said from the very beginning - even though weed is prohibited in Seremban - cops are overall calm and relaxed in everything related to cannabis, this made me feel better.

What if I get caught with weed in Seremban?

In practice, as Simon said - if you are 18+ and carry less than 20 grams of weed or 10 grams of hash and do not smoke in public - you should not expect any arrest. As a maximum, cops will confiscate your stuff after they ensure you are not a dealer who delivers stuff.

There are some stories about occasional cops forcing people to give them a bribe after catching someone with weed, but such cases are rare. Usually cops do not touch foreign tourists who are spending their vacation or business trip in Seremban and bring money to Malaysia.
